How to Cope with a Breakup?

Have you ever loved someone so deeply that you never expected the day would come when you both had to part ways? I'm sure we all have. All of a sudden, your life is deserted. Worse is when your partner betrays you and never turns back. Not just humans but even fairies are victims of breakups and betrayals.
Maleficent is a fairy and Stefan is a human; they both fall in love. Maleficent is the guardian of the forest she lives in. After failed attempts to defeat Maleficent, the ailing king of the neighbouring kingdom proclaimed to descend his throne to anyone who kills her. Stefan steals the wings of Maleficent and presents them as false evidence to the king. He marries the king's daughter and claims the throne.

There are always two sides to a breakup story. First, imagine yourself to be a fairy. Your parents were killed by humans. The human you loved betrayed you. Above all, you are powerful than humans. Wouldn't you seek revenge against the entire human race? Second, imagine yourself to be a human. You fell in love with a fairy but didn't want to spend a lifetime in the forest with her. Wouldn't you ditch her to get hold of a kingdom?

Stefan now has a daughter named Aurora. Maleficent places a curse upon Aurora as revenge—she would fall into an endless sleep when she turns sixteen. Sixteen was the age of Maleficent when Stefan kissed her the first time. Only a "true love's kiss"—which doesn't exist according to Maleficent—can awaken Aurora.

She wants to ensure that Aurora lives up to sixteen for the curse to realise. She watches Aurora grow from close quarters, which makes Aurora believe that Maleficent is her fairy godmother. Over time, Maleficent and Aurora develop a maternal bond.

Aurora turns sixteen and falls into the cursed sleep. Maleficent gives Aurora the true love's kiss and saves her from the curse. She defeats Stefan, gets her wings back and crowns Aurora the queen of the human kingdom and the jungle.

Maleficent doesn't crown herself the queen. Love is innate in Maleficent. Stefan broke her heart but his daughter fixed it. Maleficent would have remained evil for the rest of her life, had she never met Aurora. Stefan was power-hungry. He would've remained a happy king forever only if he had killed Maleficent once and for all instead of chopping her wings off. Again, it was love that stopped him from killing her.

We underrate people and love, until we lose them.

Stefan underrated Maleficent, but was defeated by her. Maleficent underrated Aurora, but learnt from her what true love is. There's always an Aurora by your side too, long unnoticed. Don't miss her. A broken heart always wants to break other hearts, thereby losing Auroras. Remember - Maleficent can revert her curse, but we humans can't undo things from our past. Therefore,

when a Stefan breaks your heart, you need an Aurora; not revenge!
